About the Creator

Greetings! I’m Alec, the creator of The Town Digest.

I grew up in a small town—the kind of place where working hard, integrity, and looking out for your neighbor aren’t just ideas; they are the local code. When I moved to the city, I brought those values with me, finding myself immersed in a world of new cultures and different perspectives.

Bridging Two Worlds

I’ve spent my life navigating the road between small-town porches and city sidewalks. Along the way, I noticed local news has a habit of trying to tell us who to blame for our problems. But my experience has been different: whether in a rural diner or a city park, I’ve found that we laugh at the same jokes and share the same Sunday-night worries. People aren't "the problem"—they’re neighbors who just haven't met yet.

A Lens of Compassion

I started The Town Digest because we deserve a news cycle that does more than just pick a fight. I wanted to build a one-stop shop for local stories told through a lens of compassion. We focus on the craftsmanship of our neighborhoods, the heartbeat of our local sports, and the real people keeping the gears turning. By choosing curiosity over conflict, we can see our community for what it is: a place where everyone's path eventually crosses.

"Our unique paths lead us to the same community. And through that, we all have something in common."
